Respite | Memorial Healthcare System

Respite is provided to families with children ages 3-13 years old who exhibit behavioral health needs that severely disrupt daily functioning in their home, school or community. Programming is focused on reducing family stressors and strengthening family functioning by providing assistance in meeting the child's care needs, offering the child opportunities for growth and development and maintaining or enhancing the quality of life for children and their families.

School Health services enhance the educational process by assessing, protecting and promoting the health status of school-age youth physically, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and developmentally.
School Health services support parent responsibility and encourage parental attention to student health status; identification and prevention of health problems; and increase access to physicians, dentists, KidCare subsidized insurance and other preventative health provider services.

South Florida Hunger Coalition | Broward County Public Schools

The Harvest Drive is based on the premise of children helping children and adults working hand in hand to offer needy families in Broward County gifts of food and other necessities during the Thanksgiving holidays. Students from public and private schools, churches, temples and neighborhoods hold drives and supply the Harvest Drive with non-perishable food that is distributed to families. In addition to helping others, the purpose of the Drive is to teach children
at an early age that their contributions can make a difference in the lives of others.

As part of USDA's Summer Feeding Program, a collaboration of Broward nonprofits operates the Summer BreakSpot Mobile Feeding Program under the umbrella of the South Florida Hunger Coalition. Children under the age of 18 receive lunch and snack five days a week at multiple Broward locations, including various cities, housing authorities and park and recreation departments. The program's aim is to continue feeding more children in need during summer months.

The Mobile School Pantry Program under the umbrella of the South Florida Hunger Coalition, is designed to alleviate child hunger in Broward through the monthly provision of nutritious food to children and their families at a number of Title 1 Schools. Throughout the school-year, the program provides a way for children and their parents to meet their personal dietary needs by accessing a wide and sufficient variety of fresh nutritious food to help the students learn, grow and thrive at their school location in a farmers’ market setting and on a converted school bus.

The Faces of CSC

The impact Future Prep had on Sarah fomented her desire to give back to her community. Today, she is a Counselor for Memorial’s CSC-funded Youth Force program, helping other young people gain confidence and determine their own path for the future.

Thanks to the Children’s Services Council and the YMCA of Broward County, students have an opportunity to give a voice to issues that are important to them.
