Silvia Beebe recently joined the Department of Children and Families as the Community Development Administrator for Circuit 17. She brings two decades of public service leadership and system building experience.
Before joining DCF, Mrs. Beebe held various positions at the Children’s Services Council of Broward (CSC). In her 10-year tenure, she coordinated system building efforts in the areas of mental health and special needs populations. Her work led her to Tallahassee to advocate on behalf of our most vulnerable population, children with developmental and physical disabilities. She also oversaw agency capacity building initiatives and training. Prior to CSC, she was the National Evaluation Director for a SAMHSA grant in Broward County with USF’s Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute. This effort was recognized at the federal level for its successful implementation and retention rates.
In other roles, Mrs. Beebe has worked for Dade County’s Mental Health Administrator’s Office assisting judges in effectively expediting mentally ill defendants through the court system. She received her bachelor’s degree in health services administration and master’s in public administration from Florida International University.
