CSC provides a comprehensive array of capacity building resources to strengthen the ability of local child and family serving nonprofits. Agency Capacity Building (ACB) Committee members benefit from; monthly newsletters, quarterly meetings, specialized training opportunities, networking activities and one-on-one participation in our capacity building boot camp event.

Weekly group based parent and youth education program using the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) curriculum for families with children ages 6-11 years old. Program provided at various clubs throughout the county.

Intensive, in-home parenting and case management provided for up to 20 hours per week by Bachelor’s level staff using the In-Home Family Services (IHFS) model. For families with children ages birth - 18 years old.

In-home parenting education provided weekly by Bachelor’s level staff using the Effective Black Parenting National Best Practice model supplemented with the Confident Parenting curriculum to serve families at risk of abuse and neglect. Two value-added components include a mentoring program and a program seeking to engage fathers. The program serves Central and South Broward County, primarily West Park and adjacent areas.

This initiative strengthens current Early Care and Education programming to meet the comprehensive needs of child care centers, teachers, and families. The program uses a cadre of Quality Coaches who provide training and quality improvement support to participating child care providers. Some activities include providing training and technical assistance using the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) approach specific to preschool inclusion, family involvement, cultural sensitivity, and developmentally appropriate curricula.
