Organizational Capacity Building | Children's Services Council of Broward County

CSC provides a comprehensive array of capacity building resources to strengthen the ability of local child and family serving nonprofits. Agency Capacity Building (ACB) Committee members benefit from; monthly newsletters, quarterly meetings, specialized training opportunities, networking activities, and one-on-one coaching sessions, participation in our Capacity Building Boot Camp event and 24-hour access to a wealth of on-line resources.

Parenting Education Programs | Boys and Girls Club of Broward County

Weekly group based parent and youth education program using the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) curriculum for families with children ages 6-11 years old. Program provided at various clubs throughout the county.
Length of program: 14 weeks

Parenting Education Programs | Boys Town South Florida

Intensive, in-home parenting and case management provided for up to 20 hours per week by Bachelor’s level staff using the In-Home Family Services (IHFS) model. For families with children ages
birth - 18 years old.
Length of program: Up to 8 weeks

Parenting Education Programs | Community Based Connections

In-home parenting education provided weekly by Bachelor’s level staff using the Effective Black Parenting National Best Practice model supplemented with the Confident Parenting curriculum to serve families at risk of abuse and neglect. Two value-added components include a mentoring program and a program seeking to engage fathers. The program serves Central and South Broward County, primarily West Park and adjacent areas.
Length of program: 3-4 months

In-home parent education provided by Bachelor’s level staff using the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) curriculum and/or the Circle of Security model. Services provided in English, Spanish and Creole.

Parenting Education Programs | Hispanic Unity of Florida

Weekly group-based parent education program using the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) curriculum. Services are provided in English and Spanish.
Length of program: 12 weeks

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports | Family Central

This initiative strengthens current Early Care and Education programming to meet the comprehensive needs of child care centers, teachers, and families. The program uses a cadre of Quality Coaches who provide training and quality improvement support to participating child care providers. Some activities include providing training and technical assistance using the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) approach specific to preschool inclusion, family involvement, cultural sensitivity, and developmentally appropriate curricula.

The Faces of CSC

The impact Future Prep had on Sarah fomented her desire to give back to her community. Today, she is a Counselor for Memorial’s CSC-funded Youth Force program, helping other young people gain confidence and determine their own path for the future.
This program has touched me and made a difference in my life.
Thanks to the Children’s Services Council and the YMCA of Broward County, students have an opportunity to give a voice to issues that are important to them.
